SUMMER
Summer is an audio-reactive piece that visualizes the sound of cicadas. As the cicada’s call grows louder, a shimmering form—resembling the cicada itself—emerges and evolves at the center of the screen, driven entirely by the audio input. The work captures the intensity of midsummer soundscapes, transforming familiar seasonal noise into a living, generative presence. In many East Asian cultures, cicadas are considered as a symbol of summer, their loud, rhythmic calls evoking heat, transience, and the intensity of the season—an association that deepens the work’s connection to the experience of summer itself.
